The original release was produced by Alfred Lion, but on this release he is only mentioned in the Duke Pearson's liner notes, with a reference to when they met at 'Birdland'. After hearing 'Little Johnny C', Alfred thought it would be a good number to record.

Released as a digibook with a digipak style tray and an attached 20-page booklet containing original liner notes, photographs, illustrated details of the XRCD 24-Bit process, a page on Audio Wave Music, and original and reissue credits.
